The Washington Center Academic Internship Program Alumni
June 2024 – August 2024

As an active participant in the The Washington Center (TWC) Academic Internship Program, Indeyah Todman took on a 3-month internship at the Turkish cultural center The Yunus Emre Institute as a graphic designer. She took and passed a college course entitled “Media Management,” where she worked as a team with her fellow students to create a mock business from the ground up. Ms. Todman’s participation in TWC’s Career Readiness Program gained her invaluable knowledge on organization, being proactive, solving problems in the workplace, punctuality, communication, and more.

The University of the Virgin Islands College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences presented the Communication Award to Indeyah Todman for demonstrating academic excellence during the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

Southern Regional Press Institute Publications Contest 2nd Place Winner
February 2022

For her short documentary Cuisine Through the Ages, Indeyah Todman won 2nd place in the 71st Annual Southern Regional Press Institute (SRPI) Publications Contest in the Best Mini-Documentary category. The documentary succinctly explored the local dishes that are native to St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and how their prevalence in the culture has diminished with each generation.
Junior Statesmen of America Summer Program Alumni
July 2019 – August 2019

Indeyah Todman was chosen to receive a full scholarship to partake in the rigorous Junior Statesmen of America (JSA) Summer School program at Princeton University due to her exemplary essay on the USA’s electoral college. Throughout the program, she took a college course entitled “Honors Speech & Politcal Communication” taught by a Princeton professor. She graduated from the program with a 96 grade point average.
